What do you do at Joyride?
As Lead brewer at Joyride it is my job to brew our staple recipes, develop new recipes, ensure quality, and continue to learn new and better techniques. I believe there is always room to grow as a brewer, and I enjoy trying to improve.
Where in Colorado are you from?
I grew up in the Sloans Lake area of Denver, and now live right here in Edgewater.
What’s the best part of being a Colorado native?
Definitely the mountains, and drinking beer in the sunshine.
What did you do before Joyride?
Before working at Joyride I was a brewer for Westbound and Down in Idaho Springs, and then the Head Brewer for Hogshead Brewery in Denver.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Joyride?
Walking to work everyday to brew beer, and good times with co-workers!
What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?
When not working, you can usually find me in the mountains snowboarding, fishing, hiking and camping.
What’s your favorite type of music/band?
Throughout the week while brewing we listen to a wide rang of music and I love the variety. My favorites are Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, and Stick Figure.

What’s your all time favorite beer?
I love lower ABV beer that is well balanced, something like Cannonball Creek’s Trump Hands or Bierstadt’s Helles.
Favorite beer Joyride has ever made?
I’ve always liked the Ah Ale Yeah Pale Ale series and although it’s difficult to remember them all, #6 had a very fruity hop character and a soft bitterness that I really liked.
Favorite Joyride beer currently on tap?
The Ice Cutter Kölsch because… well… if you haven’t tried it, you need to!
You’re stuck on a desert island and can only drink one style of beer for the rest of your life. What is it?
IPA is probably 75% of my diet anyway, so that’s an easy choice for me.
Favorite place you’ve ever visited?
Visiting my family in Barcelona and Ibiza, Spain are always my favorite places to take a long vacation.
When can people normally find you at Joyride?
I’m in the brewery at Joyride M-F, look for me enjoying a beer after work in the taproom or on the rooftop patio.
